All you can really do is find professionals at these firms on LinkedIn and reach out via LinkedIn or email (there are example cold outreach templates on this site). Send a short, simple message of 3-4 sentences that explains your background and how you could contribute to the firm.

Getting a referral or going through headhunters might help your case, but I’m assuming those are not options if you’re self-taught and did not study these topics at university.

The good news is, people at prop trading firms are often more receptive to networking and cold outreach because they don’t get bombarded with emails from students like investment bankers do.

Commissioned based firms don’t seem to provide much opportunity for progress and offer little to no stability like a salary. I would like to enter the corporate landscape. I understand the importance of a track record. I wanted to know the best way to approach entering the industry. Unfortunately I’m completely self taught and didn’t study maths, economics or finance at university. However I do have the skillset. What are my best options?

Sorry, we don’t have a list of prop trading firms that let you do this, as it’s not the site’s core focus and is more of a supplemental topic.

Great article.
I am looking for a prop firm that would provide excess leverage on my own capital. Apart from LinkedIn, is there any other source I could use? I am also based in EU and most of US prop firms I have contacted require US person status.
Thanks

Sorry, I’m not sure about that one (and sorry for the long delay here – your comment didn’t appear in the admin interface initially). I think with the current crypto market, it will be tough to find good/legitimate prop trading firms, so it might be better to start elsewhere.

Thanks. We don’t really track trading platforms on this site because most of our audience is interested in deal-based roles such as investment banking and private equity. The trading articles are more like supplemental topics.

Honestly, I would probably not pursue this route unless you actually want to “trade” (i.e., trade frequently all day) rather than use a long-term / buy-and-hold strategy. Most of these platforms are geared toward people who want to be day traders. But I’m honestly not sure of the best options or the specific companies/platforms in Canada.

I’m wondering if you could advise on a professional advanced trading platform thats available to a retired business executive that understands corporate business from the top down. I have no intentions of re-entering university at my age but however, I find trading and investing in public companies a challenge and rewarding. I have an understanding of technical programs……career was developing technology companies within various industries. I’m located in Canada and find resources limited outside of a typical bank related high fee sevices and limited technical information.
Would appreciate your comment.
Thank you.

??? I’m not sure I understand your question. We don’t post actual jobs here, just descriptions of different career paths and industries.
