Strong in Canada but less so in the U.S. Not sure of the ranking offhand, but somewhere in the middle market range maybe? You can always lateral to a larger bank, but it depends on market/hiring conditions at the time and how much deal experience you get.

Was wondering what’s your view on Scotiabank in the U.S. and what tier/category would Scotiabank fall in (within U.S.)?

Also, how difficult do you think it would be to lateral from Scotiabank to a BB after a year?

Thanks!

I would not recommend reneging on Moelis NY to accept a JPM offer. Yes, you could argue JPM is “better” for various reasons (brand name, larger firm/network, etc.), but I don’t think it’s worth the risk/downside in this case.

I would probably pick BMO just because of the location / access to other lateral and exit opportunities.

I would probably pick BMO out of those since it’s the largest firm, and the NYC location will give you benefits. But it’s not hugely different vs. Stifel or Solomon. Exits are probably better, but not a night-and-day difference.

Any suggestions or feedback. I just want the best Exits.

I don’t think there’s a huge difference, so this would come down to the region, individual office and people there, etc. For example, BMO is the best for metals/mining and is especially strong in Canada. Nomura might be better for other sectors/regions.
