Do you expect me to say, “No, please do not use my own product that I’ve spent about 15,000 hours working on?” It’s fine to look at modeling or other tutorial videos at work, just use headphones. You use Excel and PowerPoint all day anyway, so no one can tell the difference between that and videos of Excel and PowerPoint.

Email is fine if you feel more comfortable that way.

Thanks so much for this article. On the networking aspect, should I be trying to invite people to coffee over email or in person? I don’t want to bother someone by going up to them if they’re working.

I am wondering could you also upload the document used in the video “Company Profile in PowerPoint: Alignment Tricks” so that I could practice it myself.

I’m not sure it’s that different, maybe just be a bit more low-key with the networking if the team is small… it’s always worth reaching out and contacting people before you start.

I was wondering how these are different for me as I am the single intern with about 3 analysts in a 15 person capital markets team (spanning multiple sectors). This is in regards to networking throughout the team as I assume the preparation will be roughly the same.

I’m starting to think about thinking about my upcoming summer internship. Do you have any specific tips/advice for a generalist program (M&A/RX advisory firm)? Thanks!
